Esther P. Oliver Fund History

In 2001, Ann Wrixon, Thom Kwiatkowski and Elizabeth Kwiatkowski-Wrixon established the Esther P. Oliver Fund in memory of Ann’s godmother, mentor and role model. These are some of the highlights:

In the fall of 2001, the Fund made its first grant to Central California Criminal Justice for its grassroots effort, organizing Fresno residents to demand the formation of a civilian review board to act as an independent monitor of police conduct.

In 2002, the Fund made a grant to Making Change to their work educating the public about homelessness from homeless people's perspectives, and to provide computer equipment for their Empowerment Center for organizers who are homeless in Santa Monica, CA.
