Visala Tangirala
Memorial Fund History
In 2002, Bramara L Madhuri and Sarada Tangirala established the Visala
Tangirala Memorial Fund in honor of their mother.
The Fund made one grant in 2002 to the Filipino/American Coalition
for Environmental Solutions to help this grassroots organization which
seeks U.S. responsibility for the toxic contamination left behind at former
US military bases in the Philippines and raises funds for victims of that
contamination. The grant allowed Crizel's World: Butterflies and Benzene,
a series of drawings and photos made by and of Crizel Jane Valencia, a
six-year-old victim of leukemia caused by the toxic waste at Clark Naval
Air Base, to travel to venues throughout California.
